I will be at this event, and have lots of information to share about how to minimize the risk of breast cancer through nutrition and lifestyle, as well as how to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.
The Warwick Merchants Guild and the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation are excited to announce the First Annual Pink Friday on October 19th, 2012, sponsored by the Bon Secours Charity Health System. Besides the many colorful shops and eateries participating in Pink Friday offering special discounts, promotions and other “freebies”, there will also be several dozen street vendors up and down Main Street and on Railroad Avenue.
“You can expect to see local hair salons providing makeovers and eyebrow threading, massages and henna tattoos. Also on the Railroad Green there will be a lineup of dance performances and fitness demonstrations and a troupe of belly dancers in full garb! A DJ will provide music to dance the night away — by 8:00 PM the Village will explode!” explained Tim Mullally.
Participating shops and restaurants will be donating a percentage of the day’s proceeds to Miles of Hope, a nonprofit charity that funds support services and outreach for people affected by breast cancer in the 8 counties of the Hudson Valley. Pari Forood, executive director of Miles of Hope will be on hand with information on support services for people affected by breast cancer.
