Standing desks have been touted as the answer for health problems caused by sitting all day. But the evidence that the high desks improve health — or that they are even used much — is weak.
Oh my gosh, it’s not about standing vs sitting, or a fad like standing desks! It’s about MOVING! That’s what makes the difference in overall health.
Get up from your desk and move, ideally once an hour. Twist, turn, walk, stretch, change your focal length. Doing that regularly, though perhaps less fashionable, is better for your health than sitting 8 hours every day but going to the gym 3 times a week.
