They sure do! I have been telling clients this for years: that what raises cholesterol is increased insulin resistance and a diet high in refined sugars and carbohydrates. It is not eating foods that contain cholesterol, like eggs, and it is not successfully addressed by a low-fat diet. We are much more complex a system than that!
