Ex-Vegans Anne Hathaway And Bill Clinton Praise Paleo-Style Low-Carb Diets For Energy And Weight Loss

I wrote previously about Bill Clinton’s decision to go vegan and how difficult it can be to stay healthy, long term, with that approach.

For many people on the Standard American Diet (SAD) going vegan might be beneficial initially if they are replacing processed foods and junk foods with real food. That’s always a good thing.

But eventually, especially if they are older (like Bill Clinton) or have huge energy demands (as Anne Hathaway notes) they may start to need more protein with less starch.

That is very difficult if you are vegan.

The key, as I have always said, is that if you choose to eat animals, you must eat animals that are themselves healthy. Fortunately, it has become easier and easier to find pasture raised meat and poultry products.

If you have trouble finding sources locally, I recommend US Wellness Meats and Vital Choice Seafood. While I love supporting my local farms and farm stands, I also cave to the convenience, at times, of ordering at 11PM and having it on my door step 2 days later.
