“The low-carbohydrate diet was more effective for weight loss and cardiovascular risk factor reduction than the low-fat diet.”
I never cease to be shocked by the large number of clients who come into my office with cardiovascular history or issues, having been told by their doctors to “stay on a low fat diet.”
There is no scientific basis for this. Never has been, never will be.
On the other hand, there is solid research, in well-respected journals, showing the benefits of a diet lower in carbs (particularly refined and processed carbs) and higher in healthy fats.
Eat healthy fats, protein from healthy animals, and lots of veggies, and you will improve your weight and health while improving cardiovascular measures.
