No NO NO! It’s not about eating less. It’s about eating differently. It’s about learning how to become a fat burner rather than a sugar burner. You can do that successfully at any age.
And yes, hormones can slow us down, as can past yo-yo dieting. But the point is to re-balance hormones and re-vitalize the metabolism, all of which can be done with nutrition.
