“As expected, many more people were eligible for statins under the new guidelines — 39 percent of the study participants, compared with only 14 percent under the old guidelines.”
Hmmmm… do we think there may be a bias, or conflict of interest here? There sure is a lot of money to be made.
Statins are a terrible class of drug, with frequent and serious side effects. Perhaps that would be worth tolerating if there were no simple alternative – but there is. It is not only possible to improve your cardiovascular health through nutrition and lifestyle changes, it is fairly easy.
Changing your nutrition to lower inflammation and improve insulin resistance will not only keep you ( or get you ) off statins, it will improve your health outlook for the rest of your life, including how you look, feel and function.
